Based in Mortlake - South West London, Mamma Chef was founded in 2023 with the mission to provide parents and caregivers with a better alternative to "traditional" baby weaning methods such as readymade baby food pouches and jars, which are often highly processed, or referring to cookbooks that can be a time-consuming and expensive process.
We hope that together we can disrupt the baby food market through empowering parents to prepare their baby's first foods at home and establish good dietary habits that extend beyond the weaning period!

Our Founder
Hi, I'm Harriet, the founder of Mamma Chef. As a first-time mum in 2020, I, like many others, experienced the challenges of navigating motherhood for the first time.

During my journey as a new mum, I realised that one area where I struggled the most was during the weaning period. Coming from a national-level competitive sports background, I understood the importance of good nutrition and was determined to establish in my son good dietary habits from the beginning in order to avoid "fussy eating" in childhood.

However, despite my efforts to follow baby cookbooks and online resources to provide a diverse range of age-appropriate foods, I found the weaning process to be incredibly challenging. I often encountered difficulties in sourcing the right recipes and ingredients and ended up with a lot of unused food, which was both wasteful and frustrating.

Motivated by my own struggles, I studied to become a nutrition advisor with a focus on early years, became a member of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and established "Mamma Chef".
Through Mamma Chef, I hope to alleviate the stress and uncertainty surrounding the weaning period, making it a joyful and rewarding experience for both parents and thier babies!
